Dr Jessica Green MBBS MPM FRANZCP Cert Psychotherapy PhD is a Consultant Psychiatrist currently working in the public health sector in the areas of functional gut disorders and youth mental health. She has a sub-specialisation in structured psychotherapies, and provides gut-focused CBT to clients with Disorders of the Gut Brain Interaction.
Dr Green also holds academic appointments as a Senior Research Fellow at Deakin University, a clinical academic at Barwon Health and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University. Her research is primarily focused on lifestyle psychiatry, and the gut-brain-axis. Dr Green led a trial investigating the use of Faecal Microbiota Transplants (FMT) for Major Depressive Disorder. The study represented the first published RCT of FMT for a mental health condition. Dr Green is passionate about translating the strong evidence base for lifestyle interventions into mental healthcare, and exploring novel and emerging treatment approaches focused on the gut-brain axis. Dr Green is also keen to support and mentor emerging researchers and is available to co-supervise PhD or honours students.
